Sooo much smoke on the aroma. Earthy peat. Not much else. Taste: good lord this is one hell of a full-bodied stout!! Lots and lots peat. Roasted malts. Little bit of coffee. But damn, so much peat.. Seems almost like a crossbreed between an Islay malt and a coffee stout. Strong stuff. I like it.

This is awesome. Smells and tastes quite smoky/peaty. This tastes so much like the Ardbeg that was in the barrel that I doubt it was empty when they barrelled the stout. Aftertaste lasts a long time.

Bottle. Pours a viscous black body with a small bubbly dark tan head. Heavy peat and whiskey on the nose along with roasted malts and a whiff of alcohol. Taste is peat and roast. Bitter ashy flavors, notes of tar, leather and more peat and wood. A warming finish, along with a lasting peat flavor. Fairly flat, slick on the palate and medium to full bodied. Very nice if you like Islay whiskeys.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2015 Pours black, tiny, beige-to-brown head. Aroma is EXTREMELY peaty and smoky, hints of dark malts. Taste is dominated by peated whisky notes balanced by a fair amount of sweetness. Some hints of dark fruit and caramel, but it definitely is one smoky monster. Great, bold and complex stout.

8.11.2014. Black, dark brown head, quite oily. Roasted, slightly burnt aroma, peat. Taste is quite full, roasted malts, quickly turning into very peaty finish. On the dryer side.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Naama. Black with a light brown head. Smoky peaty aroma with iodine. Sweet flavor with dark chocolate, peat, iodine, and a smoky burnt bitter finish. Full-bodied. A bit over the top, but still very nice.

Bottle 330ml, pours pitch black. Aroma is very complex, but it starts with a heavy smell of bandages, medicine, peat and old decayed wood. After warming up it gains some notes whisky with a hint of vanilla and some smoked wood, but still the medical stuff is dominating. Taste is medium sweet with a long lasting and a bit ashy bitterness. It tastes a little bit like a mixture of coffee and medicine. I got the feeling that it was forgotten and left in an old wooden barrel for ages. Very dry, heavy and oily. Alcohol is good hidden but the drinkability is comparable to petroleum. We won’t be friends with this beer for sure.
