3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
30-OCT-2015, bottle @Ulkløbben meeting, @Sonni.
Black with a lasting, creamy Brown head.
Peated, roasted. Too peated for me. The stout is hidden by the peat. Nice try but for me over done.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle, bought about 18 months ago. pours jet black with no bubbles. aroma is charcoal, ash, burnt toast, licorice, oak, dusty books and a little whisky/alcohol. taste isn’t complex but very nice. smooth if a little thin. charcoal and burnt toast with a very oaky/smoky whisky after taste.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Couple of years Old bottle. Completly flat. Don't know if it's age or just this bottle.
First whiff from the glass was like smelling a glass of Arbeg, fantastic. Was extremely promising. This faded fast:(
Whisky notes are still there but have faded on the palate. The wood character from the barrel is more prominent than the whiskey. There are still some dark notes like coffe and maybe some prunes.
Mouthfeel is a bit weird. Almost earthy, some tannins.
First 20 seconds the points would be somewhere around 4.2.
Think this have not aged with dignity

Clear dark brown beer, creamy irregular beige small head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very peated, alcohol, caramel, bit of ripe banana, sweet, sugary. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, very peated, charcoal, caramel, soft alcohol touch. Aftertaste: banana, bitter hops, roasted, banana peel, dry, pretty peated, lots of coffee, very bitter finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at tderoeck’s place. Peated, chocolate, coffee, I liked the Moine version a bit better.

330ml bottle at home courtesy of Saeglopur, many thanks. BB 12/2020. black color, almost no head. strong smell of peat, really not much else, maybe spices. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of peat, some spices, light smoke, some alcohol, some roast notes. finishes with lots of peat. hmpf, not a fan of this one, peat and not much else.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this one right after the Moine BA version. Less smokey, but more towards licorice and more chewy / full bodied I think. Still has a lot of the peated earthy flavor as well. It?s a matter of personal taste which one is better. I like my stouts smoked and loved the earthy flavors of the Moine version, so I will go for that one. This one is a bit overkill for me.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sooo much smoke on the aroma. Earthy peat. Not much else. Taste: good lord this is one hell of a full-bodied stout!! Lots and lots peat. Roasted malts. Little bit of coffee. But damn, so much peat.. Seems almost like a crossbreed between an Islay malt and a coffee stout. Strong stuff. I like it.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is awesome. Smells and tastes quite smoky/peaty. This tastes so much like the Ardbeg that was in the barrel that I doubt it was empty when they barrelled the stout. Aftertaste lasts a long time.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a viscous black body with a small bubbly dark tan head. Heavy peat and whiskey on the nose along with roasted malts and a whiff of alcohol. Taste is peat and roast. Bitter ashy flavors, notes of tar, leather and more peat and wood. A warming finish, along with a lasting peat flavor. Fairly flat, slick on the palate and medium to full bodied. Very nice if you like Islay whiskeys.
