Bottle. Black, tan head. Deep dark roasted, charred, barley, old oak, bit acidic peat, dry chocolate. The aroma doesn’t really impress that much. Rather messy, over roasted, slight alcoholic. Fulll body. Roasty, sweets, bitters to leave a dry finish. Messy, but intensive. Feels like a homebrew actually. Not bad, just sort of chaotic.

In brand bulb glass, pours pure black without any real head till the last bubbles float up. Smell immediately remembers you what’s on the label: the smell of peaty Ardbeg whisky combined with some sweeter notes. Tastes sweet, ending in a very long bitter finish. Aroma’s of dark chocolate mixed with whisky and some hint of peaty smoke and wood. Very light carbonisation. This makes he hunger for Ardbeg as a desert. :) Best of whisky and stout.

This beer really gives you the taste of the smokey whiskey whence it was bottled in. Unfortunately Ardbeg ian’t my favorite, but still an amazing beer.

Bottle, bb 12-15. Pours black & tan. Aroma: peat, iodine, wood, liquorice. Taste: peat, dark chocolate, wood, coffee, almond, ash. Full bodied, creamy, velvety mouthfeel, sweet, with a loooong lasting roasty bitter, boozy finish with woody dryness and peaty goodness. This is one for peat lovers!

On tap @ Six Roses, Lille - FR. Color: deep black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee domination. Sugar notes and small alcohol presence. Taste: good sensation on mouth, roasted malt and sugar combination is amazing. Coffee domination with almond notes. Aftertaste: high sugar domination with coffee and malt, alcohol notes from the BA. Really nice!

330ml bottle, thank to Benzai. Pours black with minimal to non-existent off-white head. Aroma is thick diesel barrel. Taste is massive peat, soil, powerful whisky flavours and oaky wood with strong dark malts. Big barrel aged influence on this one.

One of my favourite beer genres, stored in barrells of my favourite whisky. High expectations! Smells of good whisky, with a lot of peat and a hint of coffee mocca. This is rich in taste, and both very powerful and very strong. The taste has much peat, dark chocolate, some coffee and of course a bit of alcohol. The dark chocolate is unfortunately overpowering the vanilla-like whisky notes I was looking forward to. But still, this is excellent.
