This might be the first and last time I will be giving full score. Perfect balance off great beer and whisky. This is defenitely the best beer I have ever tasted! Taking a sip envelopes you into a great adventure of rich flavors that keep on coming and changing for minutes long. It will grab your attention every time again.

Pours a pitch black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, dark chocolate, peat, coffee, oak, Ardberg whiskey, smoke. Flavour is peat, liquorice, whiskey. Nice long bittersweet finish. My second White Label from Emelisse, another true winner.

Bottle 33 cl. Number 5 of a range of 7 Emelisse IRS. What an evening... Very nice big head. Perfect match of peat. Top beer. More peat than iodine. My kind of beer. Well done.

Bottle from jmgreenuk - thanks John! Whoa - totally different flavour to the Wild Turkey version, but hey, I guess that’s the point eh? Duh. Dry, full of whiskey vapours like the boozy whiskey experiences of my misspent youth. Papery, inflammable quality. Slightly less beige head than the Wild Turkey. Antiseptic scent.

Bottle 33 cl, thanks to Ingo! BB 03.15 A. Sampled on November 25, 2013.
Clear very dark red to black color, dark brown head. Dry, peat, cocoa, smoke, grainy scent. Smoke, dry, ashes, alcohol, sweet, roasted taste. Dry, smoke aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
Smoked character is a bit too dry and peaty for me, I like it more to the sweet side and smoke at the same time.

gyllenbock (5031) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2013
Bottle, thanks Eddan. Black with a small tan head. A lot of whisky both in the aroma and taste, also salt, peat and licorice. Not balanced but a nice beer to sip. The body was full and the aftertaste very long. Not a beer for the weak ones.

Bottle from Voldby. Black colour with a small off-white head. Smoky aroma of roasted malt, licorice and notes of chocolate. Very smoky taste. Roasted malt, some licorice, chocolate and maybe some coffee too. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Smoke and licorice in the finish.

Svesse (6296) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 8, 2013
(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 27 July 2013) Black colour with foamy, brown head. Smoky, roasted, malty nose with oak wood, Islay whisky, peat, tar, soy sauce and roasted malt. Malty, roasted taste with notes of oak wood, peat smoke, liquorice, soy sauce, dark bread and a certain roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Hardly in exceptional balance, with the oak wood and whisky character taking over a touch too much. But then I love Ardbeg whisky, so I can’t really complain. Quite extreme, but in my opinion very nice.
