Peaty start malty middle and then the smokiness to finish. The nose is straight up single malt Scotch whiskey. This drink is silky smooth the whole way through.

Una produzione di eccellenza. La presenza e la raffinatezza dell’invecchiamento è uno degli aspetti più riusciti. Il palato persiste e muta senza scomparire. Da provare assolutamente.

Ar: Ardbeg smoke a plenty! Peat, ashy, tar, like licking a sailboat! Just lovely!
Ap: black colour, no head.
F: heavy, heavy oak aging, This is intense! Smokey, completely dominating the other notes, ashy, peaty, sweet, boozy, rich as you can’t believe, coffee, roasty, licorice, soy sauce, woody, lovely! Ending in a warming and extremely smokey note.
M: Soft carbonation, like velvet.
T: This is awesome!

(on tap) An extraordinary beer. Very black colour with little beige head. The aroma is intense whiskey peatiness with hints of caramel. It is smooth, almost sticky with modest carbonation. The flavour is extraordinary, again dominated by the whiskey peatiness, but with a complex mix of complimentary flavours including dark toffee, chocolate, oak. Overall an exceptional beer.

Bottle @ ACBF 2012: pitch black with a small mocha head, smell is very heavy on the peat, chunks of peated earth, almost edging towards burned plastic, burned malts, taste is sweet upfront, molasses, chocolate, brown sugar, creamy malts leading up to a very strongly peated finish, idione, ink, peated earth, almost too much at first but once your pallet adjusts to it, it becomes very well balanced & you get both sides of this beer, thick, peaty body, low carb. very nice hybrid

Incredibile, impenetrabile e avvolgente... esperienza da godere senza fretta. Mi portato indietro a quando mio padre fumava la pipa e la domenica mattina prima di pranzo usava il tabacco leggero, dolce e un po’ vanigliato.

Bought this by recommendation from the shopkeeper at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam! Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, oak and peat. Flavor of malts, coffee, smoke, tar, peated whisky, oak, slight sting of alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation, some alcohol in the finish. Might just bee the best beer i tried so far! Great recommendation dude!

From bottle @ ACBF 2012. Peat dominating the aroma. Initial toffee, sweet malts and milk chocolate totally wiped out by the peat, The aftertaste seems to last forever. Ardbeg all over the place.
