Medium smoked, medium bitter, low sweet. In comparison with the normal IRS from emelisse, I only taste slightly more smoke and a little whisky. A nice one, but had better BA stouts.

Röstig-malziger Beginn, weich. Später sind deutliche Whiskeynoten in der Röstigkeit vorhanden, kurz alkoholisch, trocken rauchig. Rund, schon etwas speziell, die Fassnoten kommen wunderbar hervor. /11/11/13//11

Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Pours a black beer with a weak beige head. The aroma is weak with malt, fruit, roasted, dried fruit and alcohol. The flavor follows the nose with additional peat and smoke. The palate is smoke, roasted and sweetness. Overall a good beer.

Pour opaque black, with and average sized tan head.
Aroma is really smokey, with lots of roasted malts to it. And tons of peat and whiskey as well. A bit off balance imo.
A little sweet, with a whole lot of bitterness.
Average body, with a fizzy carb.

De geur doet denken aan smeulende eikenhouten snippers met koffie en een beetje chocola. De kleur is koffiezwart met een kleine bruine kop doe snel verdwijnt. Qua smaak is het een complex biertje met een lichte koolzuur aanwezigheid, koffie, chocola en een klein beetje zuur van grapefruit. Leuk en bijzonder om te drinken, maar een keer is genoeg.

Bottle at ÖÖWF 2012. LOTS of Ardbeg in the nose, together with syrupy sweetness. Taste: Sweet as hell itself, ashes, lots of whiskey. "tastes like cigarette butts drenched in beer" someone said.

I wasn’t a big fan of all the band-aid and hospital room aromas. It overpowered the nose and taste for me. Dark brown pour. Just decent.

Poured at Borefts 2012. Black with a minimal pale head. Aroma is peat, whiskey, fig. Slightly slick mouthfeel, sweet and boozy on the palate. Taste is smoke, whiskey, hint of wood. Like most of the white label series, seems a little harsh.

Bottle at Bruce’s Housewarming Tasting. It pours dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is medicinal, Savlon/TCP, antiseptic, peat, smoke and oak. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, medicinal, smoked peat, raisin, currant, fig, oak and blueberry, with an alcoholic finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. O, but not a great marriage of whiskey and beer....
