smoke, nuts, roasty, black, cloudy, minimal head, brown foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, slick feel, soft carbonation, long finish, Smokiness, malt sweetness and hops bitterness are very balanced, although the sweetness and bitterness are use to fight the smokiness as this is very strong. Smells like a islay

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2012 Bottle at home. Black pour, thin dark brown head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is harsh, ashy, roasted, iodine, medicinal and wet sigar indeed. Flavor is even more wet sigar, very ashy and with tar. Quite offensive brew. Out of balance. Still unique and intriguing.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Bergen, Norway. Extremely foamy stout! When settled it appears promising. The odour is tantalizingly awesome: lovely smell. Nice stout though unfortunately only with a inferior Ardbeg-touch present.

Tasted at Borefts 2012. Pours pitch black with no head at all. Aroma of peated whisky and roasted malts. Thick soy like mouthfeel. Taste is malty, some good liquorice, tar and whisky which makes a light burn at the final.

Medium smoked, medium bitter, low sweet. In comparison with the normal IRS from emelisse, I only taste slightly more smoke and a little whisky. A nice one, but had better BA stouts.

0.33l bottle shared with Ina. This one is as black as the knigh, and it has a small light bubbly chocolaty tan head. Smells really smoky. Woody, peat and salty tar. Some roasted hints but the rope sea-smoky thing totally dominates. I like it. It’s thick and oily on the mouthfeel with a soft to average carbonation level. The taste is even more dominating on the smoky flavor. At times, perhaps a bit to much for my tongue. Peaty smoke, some saltiness and deep roastiness all the way. A bit one dimensional perhaps, but tasty. 22.09.2012

Dark, almost black, colored beer with a small head. Smoke dominates the aroma. Flavor is smoked too, some malty sweetness, chocolate and coffee popping up. Some woodnotes too. Smooth bitter sweet finish.

Small beige head. Opaque black body. Smoky peaty chocolate aroma with earthy phenolic notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolatey peaty taste with salty licorice and toffee notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, slightly grainy mouthfeel. Dry licorice, pepper, and earth aftertaste with salmiak licorice, smoke and peat notes. Lovely. Very smoky. (0.15l draft at Haand 13.)
