Keg at Arendsnest, 28th March 14. Black, nose is whiskey, some peat, a little smoke. Taste is whiskey, lots of peat, bitter, lingering finish. Too much peat for my taste, over powered the other elements I like, such as liquorice and leather, still an enjoyable drink

bottle shared with mowbeer. about as close to black as possible with a thin sliver of a brown head; aroma of gooey caramel chocolate with a hint of whisky smoke; loads of sweetness, luscious more than sickly, iced doughnuts, some mudcake in the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Pours black with a small tan head. Lots of peat and heavy smoke in the aroma. Some alcohol, whiskey tones underneath. Taste is sweet with a lot of smoke, burned sugar, peat, and a bitter, burned, aftertaste. Nice, but a bit too much smoke and peat for my taste.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A brown to black beer, with little to no head. The nose is peat, coffee, alcohol and dry. It is a medium bodied beer, with little carbonation. The taste is dark chocolat with loads of peat. But not much more, a bit disapionting. The aftertaste is peat, salmiak and bitter. Overal not one of the best BA of emelisse.
