Bottle at arendsnest. Pitch black, good beige head - long lasting. Monster medicinal sweet peat aroma, with lots of malt and bonfire smoke. Pretty full body, light carbonation. Immense peat hits you on tasting, with moderate sweetness. Medicinal theme continues in a roasted, burnt tar like, boozy long finish. Decent

Bottle shared at Murphy’s Law, The Hague. Pitch black pour with a nice tan head. Notes of peat, smoke, whiskey, dark chocolate, raw cocoa powder. Full body, medium to low carbonation and a smokey bitter-sweet finish.

330ml bottle. BB 2020. Pitch black colour. Beige mexium head. Smoke, peat, raisins, sourness of the berries, hints of bread in the aroma. Smoke, peat at first. Lots of whiskey. Alcocholy notes. Hints of chocolate, raisins. Hints of smoke, oakiness and very light notes of cocoa. Whiskey and alcochol in the aftertaste. Makes warm inside. Rather heavy bodied. Rather heavy bodied, bitter, tart peated and alcocholy palate. Ardberg barrel tends to bring out lot of smoke and peat. Alcochol here makes it too harsh. Otherwise quite interesting brew.

Draft 0.15l at Proeflokaal Arendsnest Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 03.06.2016. Taste with cika Boban. Pour it dark color with small black head. Aroma of coffee, some red fruits. Taste starts with maybe too much smoked woody feel for me, continues with coffee, at the end good balance, long finish with sourish after taste. Good

Arômes de chocolat, robe noire, mousse beige stable, faible carbonation. En bouche, cacao, amertume et grains torréfiés. Corps onctueux qui soutien le tout.

330ml bottle BB Dec 2020. Impenetrable black with nice foamy persistent mocha head. Oak and peat smoke immediately apparent in the aroma, along with vanilla, roasted meat, leather, dark chocolate. Very smoky and oaky in flavour too, with big molasses, dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, dry oak tannins. Quite dry and roasty in the finish. Medium to full bodied and lightly acidic. Really good but would’ve benefited from further aging to round it.
