Emelisse imperial Russian stout barrel aged on tap in Amsterdam... Pours a still winelike dark caramel/toffee pour with lighter brown edges and a quickly dissipating head leaving nothing... Aroma is charred malt, lightly smoked and peaty... Flavors of smoked and charred cherry and dark fruits, sweeter with dried fruits and more peat and char. Very big and phenolic from the booziness even moreso than the misto. Body is of a medium bodied wine. Nice but couldn’t take too much of it. 8/3/8/3/15

On tap @ 2nd BBF. The aroma has chocolate malts, peated whisky, some roast. Black coloured beer with a brown head. The taste is sweet, has roast, coffee, chocolate and peat. Not too much body for an imperial stout, but it is quite smooth and nice.

Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, smoke - peat, wood. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorice, whisky, brown sugar. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20100924]

Bottle @ home. Deep black, medium creamy tanned head. Aroma is liquorice, peat, whisky, hint of roasted malt. Flavour is deep peaty liquorice whiskey goodness with a nice roasted malt backbone. Palate is less thick than expected, but it really fits. More sweet peaty whisky and liquorice goodness in the finish. Liked the regular, but this is some awesome stuff!
