11.2 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out smoked whiskey notes, smoked malt, and some charred notes. Flavour is extremely smoky, but not overbearingly so, with lots of whiskey notes, loads of peat, roasted malt, and smoked meat. Very nice body with lots of smoke and peat, but never overburdening. Very good incorporation of the barrels – loads of peat, but it’s done well. Good stuff.

Poured a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet, peated malt. Medium body, smooth and creamy. Flavour is almost rauched, vanilla smooth Islay flavour over the smokey malt

Black with brown lasting and lacing foam head. Aroma is whiskey, some coffee, some nougat. Taste is like a salty whiskey, with long bitter turning aftertaste. A beer to drink very slowly. (Velp 201304)

Bottle. A very dark brown beer, topped by a small, beige head. Nice piney, citrus peel-ish hoppyness in the aroma, with lots of coffee, roasted malts and some peat. The flavor is quite similar, with lots of hoppy flavors and a fine bitterness, and coffee, roasted malts and a touch of peat from the malts. Full-bodied, dryish and nicely carbonated mouthfeel, finishing with a nice bitterness and roasted malts. Certainly a nice one. 110916

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a murky dark brown color with some floaties and a small beige head. The aroma has dark fruits, chocolate, roasted malts and some moderate bourbon notes. The flavor has roasted malts, chocolate, raisins, oak, and moderate bourbon notes. These Danish imperial stouts are usually a bit strange and tougher to describe, but interesting nonetheless.
