Bottle, shared @ home. Black color. Brown head, with short retention. Aroma’s: bourbon, alcohol, sweet, molasses, roast. Retronasal: bourbon, sweet, alcohol, molasses. Flavor: moderate sweet, bourbon whiskey, light fruity sourness. Medium to full body. Long finish with lots of roast and chocolate, moderate bitter. Nice, but a tad bit too much on the bourbon.

Bottle 33cl. Black with a foamy brown head. Espresso and caramel aroma’s. Extreme intense flavours of coffee (read strong espresso), hints of whisky, balanced but clearly present and chocolate. Great beer. Hoppy finish. Just fantastic.

Unique beer, hazelnut brown foam, beautiful nose of dark chocolate. The taste kicks in with some force. Slightly unbalanced as taste dies away quite quickly afterwards. Still a unique beer that goes perfectly with desserts.

Pours pitch black with a nice, lasting light-brown head. Aroma of boozy bourbon, malts, toffe, vanilla. Taste more vanilla, sticky and sweet which ends in heavy chocolate and some roastiness. Honestly, this is by far the best Emelisse I’ve had up to date, and I’ve had most.

Bottle. Black and oily, with a thick brown head. Delicious aroma of bourbon vanilla. Taste is really amazing. Strong, rich and diverse. Notes of roasted malt, cacao, mocha, boozy vanilla and quite some hopbitters, surprisingly. Even a little fruit, like grape or citrus. This one has everything, world class beer. Every sip is a true joy.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Oily black colour, dark brown foam. Soft carbonation. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Also sweet vanilla from the bourbon but enough roastiness. Bitter finish. Well balanced beer. Good!

Full bodied, velvetty mouthfeel, rich and complex on the palate with some roast, bitterness and a touch of booziness on the finish. Taste is bourbon, toasted oak, dark chocolate, bitter coffee, dark fruits.
