On draft poured into a snifter..inky black with thin tan head..aroma of alcohol,wood,spices..difficult to describe..can’t really taste the stout..so much scotch/barrel that the balance of the RIS was gone.no coffee, chocolate, vanilla,or even roasted notes..not very good..much better barrel aged RIS available..avoid this one.

Pours a black black k with a little brown lacing one. Aroma of a peaty whiskey. Tastes like it smells very peaty, a little smokey, a little whiskey. After taste is straight dirt (that sounds bad but it’s not) Love this beer, good winter drink.

Bottle @ home. Pours pitch black with a medium beige head. The aroma is very peaty with notes of tar, roasted malt, oak and licorice. Intense sweet peaty roasted malty flavor. Light chocolate and coffee notes.

Bottle. Black, tan head. Roasted barley, soft oaky, slight whiskey nose. Intensive, but nice soft. Sweet ashy roasted body. Peat, ashy, ground espresso. Full bodied, slighly, delightfully, oily body. Really like this. The sweetness adds so much to the enjoyment.

@ Eddan 14-8-30: tydlig fatdoft men även en lite industridoft. Smaken är ok men lite tillbakahållen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!
