GBBF. Opaque black - brown beer. Tidy tan head. Viscous palate, a little dry. Smooth rich dark malts. Big smoky Caol Ila - quite warm. A little lactose. Takes a little bit of getting used to but worth the perseverance. Warming finish with a subtle sweetness coming through.

On tap at de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Pours jet black with just a few medium tan bubbles on top, which stays there. Aroma of smoke from the caol ila whisky, and not much more. Taste of sweet licorice and anis. Also obviously alot of smoke, from the whiskybarrels. Delightful beer, glad I got here before they ran out (which they are about to do).

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2012 Bottle @ tasting. Black pour. Aroma full of peat, iodine. A bit too much whiskey for the thickness of this brew. Slightly bitter roasted flavor. Lovely aroma full of whiskey, peat and roasted malts. Interesting brew.

Shared bottle @ Christianssand Brygghus. Black body with a small beige head. Strong aroma dominated by peated malt and whisky. Flavor is also dominated by whisky, but also roasted malt, peat, wood, vanilla and warming alcohol, a bit sweet as well. Quite nice as a sipper, but this is a rather robust one, maybe a bottle will be overwhelming but nice for sharing and this is actually my third shared one of this.

Bottle. Black beer with creamy beige head. Lots of peat in the smell, tar, caramel, little coffee, wood and alcohol. Some of the smell tip over. Quite lively for its kind. Full body, tastes very peated, coffee, caramel and some fruits. Full and oily beer. Not to excited about this, just another irs in a whiskey barrel. The barrel does work though.
