GBBF. Opaque black - brown beer. Tidy tan head. Viscous palate, a little dry. Smooth rich dark malts. Big smoky Caol Ila - quite warm. A little lactose. Takes a little bit of getting used to but worth the perseverance. Warming finish with a subtle sweetness coming through.

Bottle at Christianssand Brygghus. It pours an almost black body, topped by a finger-thick light tan head. Super-peated nose with oak and some vanilla. Roasted malts, alcohol, coffee and a herbal note too. The flavour is more or less equally peated, with warming alcohol, roasted notes, quite a lot of sweetness, and some bitterness. Full body, warming and smooth. Lasting peaty finish with a nice sweetness. Way too peaty, but lovely. Very lovely. 121004
