33cl, as Emelisse White Label Imperial Russian Stout ’Glen Elgin Barrel Aged’, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2011, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex sweet Stout, roasted/alcoholic and slightly spicy/malty, heavy, yet balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!

Bottled. The aroma has coffee, whisky, chocolate. Black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is light sweet, bit bitter, has coffee roast, chocolate and a nice touch of whisky. Full bodied beer. Nice one.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 altonbrownd (4210) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 4, 2012
Bottle from Bierkoning. Black body with no head whatsoever. Nose is licorice, medicinal and roasty. Plenty of whisky in there too. Taste is also roasty, licorice and plenty of molasses. But texture very smooth and creamy with nice bitter chocolate punching through in the end. That 11% abv sure goes down well...
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JorisPPattyn (7312) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - FEB 1, 2012
No head, viscously pouring oil-black beer. Sweetish smelling, chocolate nose; roasted, nutty touches and a - difficultly qualifyable - spirit aroma. Chocolate, coffee, and a massive spirit/whisky presence. Roastiness held in check, alcoholburn not! Black chocolate-covered dried fruits as raisins, plums or apricots. Very thick & viscous, long-lasting rroasted-sweetish flavours. What a warmth! Many thanks to Kees!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 sebletitje (5420) - Enghien, BELGIUM - DEC 27, 2011
Bottle sample kindly of Kees, headbrewer @ Emelisse. Holy smoke, this beer rocks!
