33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 12/2015
Aroma has lots of licorice, some salt and peat. Flavour is rather salty with some peat, licorice and hints of coffee. Also some woody notes. Dry finish. Good, the whiskey is not too stinging here.

16-JUN-2012, draft @Un Mare di Birra. Black with lasting tan and lacing head. Very smokey nose with tar and burned malt. Shipwreck smell:-) Really tared, butned and extremely smoked. A vanilla-bourbon-oak-thing under the smoke. Creamy with long smoked finish.

Dark brown, creamy brown head. Best BA by Emelisse I’ve tasted so far. All aspects of the taste are very well balanced and moderate, mild roasted malts, some coffe and chocolate (both not bitter). Smooth body, soft carbo.

GothGargoyle (565) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 7, 2012
Deep black with no head. Aroma is licorice, oak, whiskey. Full bodied, slightly slick on the palate, no noticeable carbonation, slightly boozy finish. Taste is whiskey, licorice, chocolate, dates. Nice but a little boozy, should improve with age.

Pour a inky black with pretty much no head. Seams like it doesn’t have much carbonation. The nose is booze oak, black cherry, and vanilla. The pallet is like a delicious scotch: oak, booze, vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at t’Arendsnest. Completely black, small head. Delicious vanilla and chocolate aroma. In the mouth traces of orange in addition to vanilla, coffee and chicolate. A late-night treat.

Dark almost black with small offwhite foam head. Interesting smell, caramel and whiskey. Taste is chocolate and coffee, but also some whiskey. Interesting beer, need to repeat. (Bruinisse 201205)

Bottle. [thanks noize/skortila/caesar]
Deep brown with no real head. Aroma has sweetness, oak, vinious, mild roasted. Low carbonation, oily and fat mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of roasted malts, oak dryness, whiskey, sweet, light vanilla and some sharp vinious. Not a perfect barrel aging.

Black colour with a beige head. Whisky and coffee nose. Rich complex flavour. A lot of everything. Whisky, espresso, caramel, chocolate. Nice!

The smoothest of the bunch, the imperial stout is not overwhelmed by the cask. Smoky, but in a more discreet way.
