Wow. If I took a blind taste test I would called this Bourbon County Stout bases on my previous knowledge. Pours thick and black with a small brown head. Nose is rich vanilla and chocolate, heavy alcohol notes, a little coffee and some nutty notes. Taste is sweet and rich, small amount of bitter for the balance. Mouthfeel is creamy and silky. Long aftertaste.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2012 Draft @ acbf. Aroma is huge roast, smoky malt and whiskey, coffee, liquorice and more. Subtle coat of fruity and full Glen Elgin. In the flavour the whiskey takes a more dominant position. The roast is pushed to the back while the malts come more upfront. Fruity notes, smokey notes. Nice one.

77ships (2154) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAR 5, 2012
Bottle @ ACBF 2012: pitch black with a nice decent mocha head, sweet caramel malts blending with the Glen Elgin, honey, nectar, slight hint of smoke, taste is sweet, hints of molasses, brown sugar, dark, slightly roasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, caramel malts, honey & sweetness blending seemlesly with the Glen Elgin flow into the finish, seamless marriage, caramel, fluent body, damn those Emelisse whiskey beers

Borresteijn (3642) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2012
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, no head. Aroma of sweet Glen Elgin (tasted this beer side-by-side with the single malt), which is honeyish, fruity, slightly floral, sweet coffee, some alcohol, roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, coffee, lovely Glen Elgin presence, hard roasted malts, bon-bons, still never overly sweet, light alcohol and roasted malts bitter finish. Fullbodied, no carbonation. Loved it.
