lusikka (4039) - Tampere, - JUN 27, 2012
330 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. BBE 06/2015.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, salty licorice and cream. Flavour of roasted malts, strong salty licorice, caramel, wood and minerals. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long, dry, salty, roasty finish. Not much flavours from the barrel. Strong saltiness is still present as on the original Emelisse IRS.

A black beer without head, only brown bubbles. Aroma is very intensive and powerfull, lots of salt liquirice and roastiness, some berries, sweetness and whiskeybarrel. Taste is also powerfull, lots of roastiness, salt liquirice and turf, balanced sweetness. In the afterteste turf and slightly smokey whiskey is more exposed. Surprisingly light to drink, only medium bodied, almost without carbonation. Intensive, beer and barrel are balanced, but still something is missing.

Bottle. Pours black with a partly lasting and medium lacing small creamy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, brown sugar, licorice, peat, whisky, vanilla, dark fudge, herbs, butter, soy, booze and oak. Taste is heavy sweet, heavy bitter, a little salty. Body is full, texture is thick/creamy, carbonation is soft. Finishes sweet and with much heat and gets astringent in the far finish. Quite pleasant this one. I’ll have to look for the other B.A. versions.

Idiosynkrasie (1832) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 17, 2013
330ml bottle. Pitch black colour with no head, just a few bubbles stick at the bezel. Dark malty aroma with typical whisky notes in the background: vanilla, leather, shoe polish. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, some treacle, notes of vanilla, leather, some warming alcohol in the finish; flat carbonation. Nicely balanced BA notes, not overdone, sadly slightly insipid.
