Shared by Ibrew2or3! Pours dark brown with an espresso head. Aroma has whiskey, vanilla and wood. Taste follows suit with more vanilla and whiskey. Thinner bodied and a slick mouthfeel. Surprisingly, this is quite easy to drink.

Bottle shared. Dark brown pour with a tiny beige head. Aroma is strong peat and whiskey, soy sauce and leather. Initial chocolate, coffee, roasted, dark fruit flavour quickly overwhelmed by the peat into a medicinal bitter finish. Low carbonation and full bodied. A bit much...

33cl bottle courtesy of Kermis. Thin white head. Dark ruby pour. Lovely after taste. Another great Emelisse beer.

33cl bottle. Pours a dark brown-black with a thin off white head. Smells peaty, a bit smoky, whisky, malt. Tastes sweet, malty, smoky.. a bit like an Aecht version of a RIS. Full boded, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Beautiful.

33cl bottle pours very dark mahogany with tan like head of foam. The aroma offers up a mild level of chocolate brownie, dark roasted maltiness and then pretty bold peaty band aid like notes. The taste has rich dark roasted malts to burnt malts as well as a mild band aid nuanced peat. Into the finish it picks up pretty firm and bold peatiness that goes hand in hand with a smooth rich yet mildly rubbery band aid finish.

Guess it’s been awhile since "JACK DAYS" cause this brew reeks of it. Sweet bourbon and charcoal complete with lighter fluid. Mellow Fishy finish with accompanying anise, chlorine and fruit.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is well, peat and jd, but in a very nice balance. Some roast shining through. Flavour starts with an intense peat and roast bitterness, followed by some jd sweetness, followed by some alcohol, followed by malt and roast. Lingering on and on. Awesome, the peat and the jd really are a great combo.

33 cl bottle (9,5%) @ home, BBE 09/2013
Aroma has peat, vanilla, tobacco and some urinal cake. Flavour has lots of tobacco, some ash, salty licorice and peat. Interesting stuff, something here disturbs me a bit. Maybe it is the peat and tobacco.

330 ml bottle. BBE 09/2013.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beige head. Strong aroma of peat, tar, tobacco, licorice and some roastiness. Strong flavour of roasted malts, peat, tobacco, salty licorice and quite heavy bitterness. Smooth bourbon as well. Full bodied and a long, bitter, peated finish with loads of roastiness and salty licorice. Quite an aggressive package really, loads of roasted malts, peat and bitter hops.
