330ml bottle from Cracked Kettle

Pours pitch black with a tiny and sticky light brown head. Strong aroma of peated and roasty malts and hints of smoke, oak, vanilla and whisky. Taste is quite fruity and roasty with whisky notes coming in in the finish. Notes of vanilla, oak, peated malts and fruity hops. Finish is strong with whisky notes and roasted malts. Okay, quite strongly peated imperial stout but the whisky notes fit in quite nicely.

33cl, at 9.5%Vol, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2011, from Slijterij van Bergen Eindhoven, very complex Stout, smoked/roasted and slightly woody/alcoholic, yet not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive

Super! /13/12/12//12

Bottle: Small to medium brown head on top of a black beer. Smell roasted malts, whiskey, peat, liquorice. Taste roasted malts, peat, nice but soft touch of whiskey, hint of earth, liquorice, hint of coffee, good bitter and spicy. Good bitter coffee whiskey aftertaste. Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and a light sticky texture.

Bottle from Bierkoning. In one word: Wow! Deep dark brown body with thin foamy tan head. Nose of rosated malts, chocolate and plenty of Jack. Taste comes on so many sides with sweet chocolate vanilla but also bitter bourbon lace and then coffee and caramel and spices. Really, really nice. Emelisse is good but this blows me away.
