Yup, another winner in the White Label range. I was a little fearful of the peated part but it never gets into the Ardbeg peated range. Very smooth. Bottle from De Bierkoning.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Drankgigant. My 500th rating! Pours pitch black with a dense tan head. Peaty aroma ofcourse, reminding of some of the great Islay whiskies. Added to that are coffee and chocolate aroma’s. Smoky peat taste but without the sometimes sharp creosote sensation. After the inital smoke a whole palette of other flavours becomes noticable: coffee, chocolate, some vanilla, dark fruits. The alcohol (11% ABV)is very well concealed giving only a warming aftertaste instead of a burn. All in all a very smooth IRS with a very interesting peat aspect. This will not be the last one drank by me.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bierkoning (8960) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2013
Bottle. Almost black, opague. Peat dominant, not leaving much space for other aromas. Initial malt, caramel and chocolate in the flavor, challenged and beaten by the peaty notes, that also dominate the aftertaste. Warming alcohol.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ibrew2or3 (5777) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2013
33cl bottle courtesy of 77ships and split with 77ships, sebletitje and adamjackson. It pours with a dark mahogany body that supports a dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate, dark roasted malts, some earthiness and just a mild peat like note. The taste is rich and quickly delivers chocolate-y goodness and highly roasted malts. To midway it begins to pick up additional notes of mild peat and a faint smoke like sensation. Tasty stuff with a pleasing roasty, chocolate and peat balance.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (5420) - Enghien, BELGIUM - FEB 25, 2013
33cl bottle courtesy of and split with 77ships. BB 09/2014.
