330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is heavily peated, with not much but smoked whiskey malt. Flavour is no less restrained, revealing harsh peated notes. Difficult to drink, but it’s pleasant enough if you like peat bombs.

Zwart bier met een prachtige bruine kraag. Mooie zachte imperial stout. Alles is aanwezig, maar alles mild. Gebrande mout, koffie, chocolade, turf. Vol en met zachte carbo.

Bottle. Very dark brown, small to average and mostly diminishing dark brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, some roasted malt, light coffee and faint licorice, faint peat/tar. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, roasted malt and light smokiness, light salty licorice and piney hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, roasted malt - light burnt malt, light smokiness and faint peat/tar, light salty licorice and faint coffee with light - some piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Nice roasted IS - not too sweet/not too much coffee. Aroma is bit weak - not in balance with flavor/finish.

Oily black colour, a lot of dark brown foam. Very complex and well balanced beer. A lot of roasted malts, aroma of dark chocolate and coffee with a peaty smoky character. Very good.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thin tan head and a little scattered lace. The aroma is big roasted malt earthy peat, rich fruit, alcohol, liqorice. The flavour is strong bitter with a surprisingly smooth rich alcoholic liqourice palate. It has an oily frothy mouthfeel and a lingering bitter finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. The base beer is awesome and the peaty whisky malt gives it that something extra. A superb beer indeed.
