Bottle @ mr. Hangover tasting. Aroma is grassy spicy hops with some roast and liquorice. Flavour is fresh sweet hoppy herbal, it brings the ris down a bit imho.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jackl (2513) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 11, 2012
Bottle sample @ Borefts 2012. The pour’s deep brown with a modest off-white head. The nose is of soft chocolate and bucolic field, some caramel and grassy funk. The taste is buttery hot cocoa, soft toffee. Hints of grassy straw and hay. Smooth, but a bit too buttery for my tastes. Oily. Overall, a bit awkward.

pitch black with a thick head. Good lacing. Nutty, roasty aroma. Great sorachi ace flavour that melds well with the huge malty blackbone. Great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fin (6175) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 3, 2012
Bottle at Cafe in de Wildemaan, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Wednesday 3rd October 2012 Shark eye black, oily, thick, heavy stout. The very friendly and helpful barnan suggested that the Sorachi Ace made this quite bitter, I tend to disagree, there was some bitterness but it was more than cancelled out by a full roastiness but very thick and heavy in mouth. There is a tangy coffee flavour, good, really good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 n0mel (250) - FINLAND - OCT 3, 2012
Bottle. Pitch black, beige foam. Aroma is a bit sweet and fruity with some chocolate. Flavors are burnt coffee and some liquorice, very bitter. There is some sweetness at times. Slight alcohol flavor. The finish is long, but only a one-sided bitterness; not exactly what I prefer. Smooth on the palate, but does not feel thick. Overall: an enjoyable imperial stout, but the long, bitter aftertaste takes away points from it in my book.
