4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to MrH. Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, anise, cocoa. Flavor is the same, but the anise is much less pronounced, medium sweet and roasty, milk chocolate, ashtray, a bit burned. Medium bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - 330ml. Opaque black body with a good beige foamy head and low carbonation. Complex malty/hoppy aroma with dark berries, cocoa, and vineous hints. Alcohol is very subtle. Its very well balanced taste carries woody, fruity, licorice, and some bourbon notes. Ends with a long, robust, warming bittersweet finish. Very enjoyable.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
This stout flowed out of the bottle like a horse flicking its mane in a windless meadow.
This stallion smelt like perfumed dulex paint.
When I put this equine stout tasted as if a army of sloths were playing rounders on my tongue
Over all I felt as if I was drinking a rather nice beer

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Fin&Loz. Småhissig. Lys gyldenbrun. Litt uklar. Lavt skum som raskt flater helt ut. Beskjeden fruktaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er aprikos. Litt syrlighet etter hvert. Another thank you to Fin&Loz. for hauling so many good beers all the way to Tromsø last January. Deltok med denne i Mass Online Tasting 3 Des 13.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter. ABV 11%
Almost totally black in colour, with a tall and thick, creamy head, brown in colour, with excellent retention, leaving thin rings of lacing around the glass.
Aroma of black olive, chocolate, light alcohol. The variety of aromas widens as it warms up. Some vanilla too, coffee, but also hops present with citrus notes.
Taste of vanilla, alcohol, roasted malts, coffee on the finish. It has the kind of bitterness originating from hops but also (less) coffee bitterness, with long duration on the aftertaste. Very good!
Very thick and full on the body, with good carbonation.Sticky on the palate.
Great IRS, looking forward to try the rest of the White Labels I have.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Mélasse au nez. Dattes et cacao en entrée. Douce chaleur d’alcool accompagné de sucre de candi en avalant. onctueuse, mais aurait pu soutenir une texture plus liquoreuse. Délectable.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 33 cl. Number 2 of a range of 7 Emelisse IRS. What an evening... It has a bigger dark beige head than the normal IRS. Very strong smell of fresh hop. Coffee is secondary. Smooth in the mouth. Clearly hop/bitterness in the finish, but not as much as hoped for. It’s one of these examples wherethe aroma promises more than it can deliver. I prefer the regular IRS.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2015 Tap at Doerak (04-12-2013). Black with a medium sized tan to off-white head. Aroma of coffee, hops, and alcohol. Bitter taste with alcohol and a hint of coffee. A bit too bitter in my opinion. (7/3/7/4/15).
(05/03/2015) Bottle at home (best before 12 2015). Pours black with a small beige to tan head. Aroma of soy sauce, licorice and sweet alcohol, coffee, roasted malts. Taste is sweet with some hoppy bitterness, roasted malts, soy, licorice, coffee, alcohol with an aftertaste of licorice, hint of dark chocolate. Better than last time. Nice.
