Bottle (330 ml). Pitch black with a medium creamy beige head and little lacing. Aroma is of bourbon, vanilla, huge fudge presence, light salty notes and caramel. Taste is moderately sweet (not cloying) with an important bourbon presence, fudge, vanilla, light liquorice, caramel and a moderate to heavy warming finish. Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Thick. Creamy mouthfeel. Good balance despite the huge bourbon and warming presence. Complex and really tasty. Super fudgy. Really good barrel-aged RIS.

Bottle from Bursprak - thanks! Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of classic dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, wood, liquorice and some week smoke. The taste has some hardcore roasted malts, liquorice, bitter coffee, dark chocolate and some wood. pretty awesome!

Vestergaard (840) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - NOV 27, 2014
Bottle thanks to Erik. Pours a pitch black with a nice, brown, lasting, frothy head. Aroma has sweet chocolate and bourbon up front, dry wooden ash/smoke, some licorice, slightly hoppy and fairly roasty malts and coffee. Taste has coffee, roasty, malty, coffee tobacco bitterness, bourbon sweetness and dry oaky notes. Overall not a very sweet beer despite the bourbon aging. Very nice, though its not that flavorfull.

Bottle, at Haand Festival -14. A really dark brown beer, topped by a small, beige head. Almost clear, and quite oily pour. The aroma has booze, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Not so much aroma of the Wild Turkey, just the alcohol. That goes for the flavor too, its roasted tending towards burnt, with chocolate and dark coffee. Full body, lightly warming and soft on the palate. Lasting finish with lots of dark malts and a solid dash of booze. Pretty lovely this one. 140523

Thanks Erik! 12oz (or maybe 330 ml) bottle. Black as night pour with next to no head. Really dark roast. Like darkness but without the sweetness. Bourbon is very minimal, might not have even noticed it. Amazing stuff.

Shared byygtbsm94. Thanks Brad! The beer is black with a thin beige cap. Aromas of oak, vanilla, whiskey, chocolate. Great flavor. Certainly a European style RIS. Rich and dark. Soft on the palate. Heavy but yet easy drinking. I really enjoyed this. I would happily have this again.
