Bottle. Nice black head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich bourbon vanilla, roast malt, wood, fruits, chocolate and hops. Warming but balanced alcohol. Very nice!

Bottle from jmgreenuk - thanks John! Sweet and tasty. Smooth like a velvet codpiece. I know piss all about whiskey, but this Wild Turkey evidently offers sugary, chocolate to the mix. Little alcohol burn, but a liqueur piquancy. Pours beautifully.

33cl bottle from Mitra, savored at home. Been a while since I last had this from the older batches, so glad to see they bottled this again. Pours a very dark brown with ruby tinges, leading up to a completely black body in the glass. Decent head retention with nice legs. Fairly subtle in the nose, with classic bourbon aromas and some hops. Onset of the palate is hoppy and bitter, gradually flowing into a roastier malt profile to finish with bourbon warmth and sweetness. Palate is pleasant, though slightly thinner than I remember it. Age might still do interesting things to this, but I stick to my statement that Emelisse is Holland’s most consistent craft brewery at this point in time, and this beer just cements that reputation. Still the best Dutch imperial stout as it stands, being fairly fresh as it is. Very good stuff.

Pours a small light brown frothy head that mostly diminishes. Body is black. Aroma contains moderate malts (light bread, hay, milk chocolate, coffee, roasted malts), light hops (flowers, pine, lemon), light yeasts (leather) and alcohol (booze), grape, raisin, cherry, pineapple, oak, licorice, cola and spices. Flavor is light acidic, then sweet and bourbon coming up, to finish in bitter and warming alcohol. Body is full and syrupy, carbonation is soft. Fantastic beer full of flavors and aroma's. The Wild Turkey just adds to the fun.

Bottle, bought @ Voldby Købmandsgård. Pours completely opaque black with a giant, staying, creamy, beige head. A clear 5. Aroma has sweet vanilla, roasted malts, soft tar and smoke, nuttiness. Overall really like pleasant. Medium to low carbonation, fine creamy and elegant dryness. Flavour is amazingly balanced, dark chocolate aplenty, vanilla, light roasted. No tar in the flavour. Light vinious and warming. Just really amazing.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2013 Black with small dark brown head. Espresso, berries, leather, vanilla, wood. Later more boozy and chocolate. Thick and sweet, but with a tart truity touch and a burnt-bitter finish. Medium to thick mouth, this is really for sipping. Slightly syrupy. Light carbonation. Very good.

Bosskie (530) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 30, 2013
Pitch black with light surface carbonation and yeast flakes floating around. Weak dark brownish head. Smell is subtle. Starts with coal and burnt wood with a fleshy creaminess to it, almost like eggs. Then find nuts, resin and roasted coffee. Pine trees. Taste is seriously full. Starts off with a grassy bitterness which sweetens slightly before moving on to a sort black burnt meat bitterness. Oily and sticky. The whiskey is there but subtle and well balanced.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Opaque black pour with creamy brown head. Aroma is quite interesting, rich whisky notes, light peat, light soy, definitely something umami going on here, leather, chocolate, salted licorice. Taste is actually quite saline, salted licorice, dark chocolate, bitter, salty and sweet, pretty much in that order, strong roasty finish, very intense. Palate is not overly sweet, good body, nice alcohol warmth with medium carbonation. A bit too rich perhaps for my taste, but still quite enjoyable.
