3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (4783) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 24, 2012
In short: An unexciting nourishing pils, slightly below average for the style
How: Tap at Wildeman, Amsterdam
The look: Cloudy yellow-blonde body topped by a small white head leaving good lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is lightly hoppy and has a lemony character. Taste packs plenty of cereals, quite fruity with mostly pineapples but also other refreshing fruits, a moderate amount of grassy hops. More nourishing than crisp. All that would be fine but there was also a sweet corn flavor that bothered me. All in all this was an average pils at best. I should have ordered something else. With so many better beers on the menu at Wildeman this beer was like a desperate ugly dude desperately trying to make eye contact with a girl but nobody wants to go out with me. I mean, with him.

Tap @ In De Wildeman. Yellow, hazy color, white uneven head. Aroma’s of grass, grain, fruit, malt, some bitterness. Flavor is ever so slightly sweet with upcoming bitterness. Finishes with a firm bitterness. If all pilsner beer were like this I’d drink much more of it (so actually a good thing it’s not).
