3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark mahogany with tons of sediment and almost no head. Aroma of butterscotch upfront, candied sugar, and buttery malts. Flavour is very sweet, with butterscotch, candied sugar and buttery Belgian malt - the candied sugar lingers without becoming too cloying. Solid winter-style Belgian Strong.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, mahogany colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Moderately roasted malty and slightly sugary sweet aroma with notes of anise, dried figs and caramel. Sweet flavour with a tinge of bitterness, quite full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly roasty and earthy malty taste with notes of dried fruits, shades of cacao and a delicately spicy touch; sweet and mildly roasted finish with fruity and slightly alcoholic accents. Stilewise not my thing but pleasant though. 08.I.12

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer, sweetish-fruity (dried fruits, as expected) nose , a tinge of wood is also detectable , some hops as well; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; robust sweer fruity and slightly alcoholic finish with a delicate hoppy aftertaste. Not bad, but a bit too much on the sweet side…

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Murky, dark brown. Short, foamy tan head. Aroma is sweet with dark fruit notes, caramel, brown sugar, candied fruit and yeast notes. Soft booze as well. Taste is a bit sweeter with more candyish notes, dark fruit, caramel, booze, and thinned chocolate. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a mild, creamy carbonation. Soft warmth from the booze as well. Ends with more caramel, notes, watery chocolate, sweet malt, booze, dark fruit notes, candied fruit and brown sugar. Got none of the smoke or spice that other raters mentioned.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bierkoning, thank you! Greyish brown with a small head. Aroma is lots of dried fruit - mainly plums, also apricots. Also - smoked plums. Plus caramel, some chocolate and vinous elements as well as some faint liquorice. Surprisingly low on spiciness. Full, oily body, very sweet with a light bitter alcoholic-hoppy finish. Lots of dried and smoked fruit on the palate, aftertaste of smoked plums and a bit of liquorice. A quality beer, a bit too sweet for me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Stumbling monk. Muddled red brown. No head. Aroma of smoked dates, sugary but good. Tastes and feels fatty like bacon with good dose of campfire. I have no idea why I got so much smoke out of it but I like it. Interesting.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium-sized frothy, off-white head over an dark, murky brown body. Very nutty aroma, dried apricots, cream, caramel and sugary cookies. Quite original. Taste continues on this path with medium, slightly lactic sweetness and some peaky hops coming through. Thick, smooth and alcoholic body. Ending is more dry and uninspiring though. Heavy and not overly refined quad-like, but pronounced and interesting enough. (33cl bottle, 3,25 EUR)
