3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very dark brown / bronze with a light patchy tan head. The aroma has anise, dark caramel, brown sugar, toffee, Belgian yeast, toasty malt, raisins, figs, molasses and some alcohol. The body is thick, rich and chewy with a moderate amount of carbonation. The taste has much of what’s on the aroma along with some phenolic spice and more brown sugar. The finish is sweet and rich. Decent beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a slight orange hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of sweet grains, caramel, candied sugar and sweet fruits. Flavor starts with very sweet grains and candied sugar with a bit of backing alcohol. A bit too sweet for my liking.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is lots of raisins and brown sugar. Flavor is a heavy raisin juice with some sugar and molasses. Tasty but very heavy with all the dark fruit showing up. Alcohol is no problem.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330mL bottle poured into a mini Duvel tulip. Yeah, this beer is a bit of a miss, maybe just way too young, may need more time. The beer has not come together, lots of alcohol floating around. Its spicy and lots of fruit, some muddled flavors. Just not cohesive, I can see a good beer coming out of this, elements are there but its messy now.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. 2009 vintage.
Served from an oddly-sized 10.14 ounce bottle. The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is extremely malty. I get a lot of toffee and caramel, along with some bready malt. The flavor is a little bit different. I get a lot of toffee and caramel, but I also get some grassy notes from the hops and an assorted mix of spices. I also get some brown sugar notes which lead to the beer being very sweet. The flavor is definitely more complex and better than the aroma. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
