Pours light brown, hazy. Not much head. The candy sugar is noticeable in the aroma. Very warming, loads of alcohol on the finish. Both bitter and sweet, with some roasted/burnt nutty notes. Full bodied.

Dark opaque chocolate brown; not much head. Aroma of molasses and dark red fruits. Taste is fruitcake leading to burnt malts. Palate perfect for this sort of beer. Very nice!

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Poured a murky dark brown with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma is dry roasted malt, yeast and with the slightest hint of toffee. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet, with a smooth, rich, ripe fruit, malt, alcoholic bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. The initial taste wasn’t so good, but it grew on me. Not that much though... just a little. There are many greater beers that have come out of Kamperland!

Draft at Khyber Pass. Very cloudy caramel brown pour with some slght tan foam. Raisins and toffee. Vanilla Tootsie Rolls. Honey chews. Cardamom. Watery mocha espresso with an odd chalky dry finish. Unusual, but not worth seeking out.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, brown, fully diminishing. Body is muddy medium to dark amber. Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of dried mango, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, soft carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. Simple caramel-sugary nose, and quite sweet in the mouth. Thin and watery for the style, virtually no head either. Mediocre.
