Brewed and matured with generous quantities of distinctive Amercian hop varieties.

The return of an old favourite! First brewed as a festive brew for BrewNZ 2004 where it won two trophies; Festive Brew and the Peopleís Choice award. Now returning as a limited release. Sweet, biscuity, toasty malt flavours support the stonefruit, pine and citrus U.S. hop notes.

The 2007 vintage is very different to the previous few years. Hops are a little more medicinal and biting now. The malt and hop flavours donít quite seem to gel as well as they have in the past. That said, I think I like it better! Itís certainly a hoppy affair, right from the grapefruit nose through the citrus and pine flavours to the long drying finish. A great beer.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2008 2007 vintage. Lovely golden brown colour with a fruity nose, low carbonation but good lacework. very fruity flavour, crisp in a way that Anchor liberty isnít. Actually isnít all that bitter, the hops manifest themselves in citrus fruity flavours rather than tongue peeling bitterness. A beer i look forward to every year!

Bottle. Shared by both papsoe and gunnfryd at two different occasions. An unclear, golden-orange beer with an off-white head. Hops, pine, some tropical fruit, beef-stocky malt and sweetness in the nose. Quite piney flavor with beef-stock, fruits and citrus. Full to medium body and a long and piney finish with oranges. Nice, pleasant, easy-to-like brew. (Same rating at 070608) (070510)

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a tall, dense and very stable off-white head leaving laces. Hoppy, slightly citrusy aroma. Medium body, fresh and fruity citrus flavours with a shot of flowers. The finish is distinctly bitter. 100507

The head is big and lasting on this cloudy and beautiful red beer. The aroma has lots of aroma hops, fruit and caramel. The mouth feeling is rather flat and the flavour has notes of aroma hops, roasted malt, caramel and licorice. The finish is fine and refreshing and itís a nice APA, but I like the hop notes in the pilsner from this brewery better.

Bottled. A copper colored beer with a huge bubbly orange head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy giving it notes of grapefruit and spices - very floral. The flavor is quite sweet and with a strong presence of hops, that hits you right from the start at first with notes of grapefruit, which turns more spicy in the middle, before a very bitter grassy end sets in. Nice one.
