50 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Reddish bown colour with a nice head. Malty aroma with notes of oak, sugar and hints toffee. Nice sweet flavour with notes of roastedness, chocolate and some hoppy finish. Ends up dry and very little bitter. Very drinkable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Maria (8586) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2007
The head is impressive on this red/brown ale The flavour has initial light sweetness and hints of licorice, and then mostly malt and a brief hint of smoke. There is a very low bitterness in the short finish.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lunkie (1129) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2006
Hop malt aroma and nor much else. Murky brown caramel colour with great head and lacing. Sweet malt flavour. Not expecting a sweet beer. Fizzy palate.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sunevdj (2492) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2006
Pours a hazy brown with a substantial tanned head. Sweet and quite dry. Dusty with brown sugar, some caramel and roasted malts and fine tones of flowery hops. A hint of coffee in the dry finish. Wish I´d had this and other Emerson beers instead of Speight´s when I was in Dunedin.

Fluffy golden tan head, hazy brownreddish body. Dry and dusty aroma with lots of spices and malt. Rather sweet with tones of brown sugar. Dry sourish flavor with bready and spicy notes. Thin in the body with a bitter spicy end. An atypical brown ale and not very balanced.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2005
Bottle. Fruity hop aroma. Cloudy chestnut colour. Malty flavour. Mouthfeel is quite swelling, too much for my liking.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 19, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) In a blind tasting I would never ever have guessed this to be a brown ale. The beer has a dry, sourish tone that rather takes after a Flemish Oud Bruin. Amber coloured with some impurities. Very lively and bubbly carbonation that really fills the mouth. Very unusual. 211204
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (23981) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 14, 2005
A hazy red-brown beer with a disappearing orange head - the haze disappears after a while. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted bread and prunes. The flavor is sweet with notes of prunes, wood, roasted bread, and a nicely hoppy end.
