4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 snuffla (155) - Chch, - OCT 14, 2010
Big spicy nose, with hints of ginger and lychee. Or maybe its pineapple upsidedown cake with a bit of cream. Both i guess, but whatever you want to smell its gorgeous, straight up gorgeous.
Rich gold colour, fine white head but when its smells as good as it does appearance is moot. Its a delicately poised IPA on a sword of belgian yeast with the flair of an artist. So so so good.

Bottle, at Galbraiths Alehouse - their last one :) Become a lot more subtle now. Fruitiness drifts through, but the malt really stands out now. But all in a good way.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 hawthorne00 (1440) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 10, 2010
Bottle. Burnt orange with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of oranges, earth, orchard flowers. Taste has peppery spices upfront and throughout, with candi sugar, kumquats and light dough. The malts lack much depth. Spicy bitterness at the end with white pepper, coriander. Also has some tropical fruits. Mouthful of spices lasts a while. Quite reminiscent of Chouffe Houblon. Excellent.

500ml bottle. Shimmering crystal clear amber hue, medium sized creamy off-white slowly diminishing head, nice lacing. Delicious intense citrus hop aromas. There must be a generous amount of hops in there and they really shine in the aroma and taste - love it. There are also fruity pine floral toffee malty, and yeasty notes along the lines of cheese in there. Awesome flavour with moderate-heavy caramel, toffee sweetness nicely balanced with the moderate-heavy hoppy bitterness. medium body, sticky, oily feel, soft carbonation, long bitter finish. Well done Emersons, in my opinion one of your finest. Foodmatch: A pungent, tangy cheese - had the second half with this and wow, a match made in heaven, though I’m sure it would go well with an Indian curry too.

Rich clear amber. Rich perfume, floral almost airfreshner aroma. Built around a very rich, sweet malt base. Sweet, citrus tang almost lemon merangue. Not strong ’Belgian’ notes but an intense hop bitter finish. georgous

ON TAP at Tonic!
Lovely aroma, lots of hops and caramel malt mingling with pear/orangey esters from the Belgian yeast.
Intense sweet toffeeish malt with lots and lots of hops. Amazing combination with the yeast... This beer is great on tap, but I would love to taste it after some aging.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 grapengrain (125) - Havelock North, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 30, 2010
Golden colour - very bright. On the nose is an onslaught of aromatic hops with an estery Belgian (I belive the use Duvel yeast) sweet fruityness (for want of a better world). On the palate the sweetness of the malt and aromatic yeasts is cut through by bright, grassy tropical fruit flavoured hops.
