COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porter, probably the oldest style of English beer, is a dark and dry mellow beer with some hop character.

Souvenir peu agréable de cette bière pour ma part. Trop de goût grillé. Peu de corpulence. Bof.

500ml bottle with a Best Before date of 30 July 2014. Pours clear but very dark brown body covered by a fine, light brown head that has very good retention and lacing. Aroma: appealing and rich smell of dark roasted malts with some spicy hops. Flavor: not complex, but very good flavor with a generous dose of dark roasted malts and a hint of molasses. Only a trace of burnt grain. Feel: Medium-full body with lively carbonation for style. O: worthy of a UK brewery, this is one of the best NZ porters I’ve had.

The head is ok, the body black. It smells darkmalty, roasty, less hoppy ok. The taste is darkmalty, roasty, bit coffee, maltaromatic, malty-roasty-bitter. Overall ok.

Draft at Quadrant in Hamilton. Extremely dark brown color, beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of burnt coffee, bitter cocoa. Taste is rich dark chocolate and burnt espresso. Very tasty.

Med brown. Not much head. Aroma is a bit fudgey. Chocolatey palate with soft nutty notes. Good, desserty porter.

At the risk of repeating myself for the millionth time, Emerson’s beers are not silicone be-titted, sequin g-string wearing, phoney loudmouth whores...NO! They are subtle, smooth, classy, restrained and they really feel like you’ve been drinking them your whole life. I so hope Lion Nathan doesn’t fuck with this "brand".

On tap in Dunedin, NZ. Black beer with off white head. Nose and taste is chocolatey roasted dark malts and prominent coffee. Pleasant smooth mouthfeel with mild dry hop bitterness. Not too sweet. Medium bodied. Nice

Mörkaste brun i färgen, offwhite skum. Doftar rostat gräs citrus, massa choklad, lie nötiga toner. Smakar rostad malt, choklad, nöt, gräs, lite citrus av humlen, Lite för tunn och citrusen stör.

Nice malty style with hints of chocolate. It is beers like this why you can see why Emersons is so highly regarded.

Bottle from Plonk. Clear reddish-black, smoot, easy drinking porter, dry finish. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter cocoa, slightly smoky. Medium bitterness balances well with the chocolatey roast malt, some sweetness there too. Not bad.
