4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Aarhus, 2008.
Pours deep, red-mahogany with a small, creamy beige head. Aroma is softly roasted, some dark chocolate. Light and fine carbonation - very fitting for a porter. Flavour is super soft, chocolate, subdued roasted. Finishes with a touch of raisins. A truly inspirational London Porter!

A head like the surface of the moon. Coffee and burnt white toast. salty at the back end. Quite strong in the end. Powerful brew. Prefer their APA though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I like this beer, to often i’ve had acrid porters that are tough going but this is surprisingly mellow. It’s a characterful beer that isn’t overly intense in any way i guess i’d call that ’balanced’. In any case i enjoy the hints of roastiness, the dash of sweet malt and the dry finish.

I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon. Visited the brewery too.
Really nice porter. Roasted, hoppy, smokey. Well balanced.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Dark yet thin enough to see the other side of the glass. Deft dry smokey aroma. Thin body and a touch overcarbonated, the last half was more enjoyable than the first. Hints of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts the flavor is stronger than the palate that holds it.

3.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bought at Robbie’s Bottle Shop in Dunedin, NZ (located on George St.). Roasty, yet thin. Dry, not sweet. Enjoyable beer from a respected microbrewer (easily found in Dunedin, but not elsewhere).

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, poured black with a large frothy beige head. A deliciously rich malty aroma, sweet and alcoholic at first and then bitter chocolate at the back of the nostrils. Quite light on the palate, the dryness being quite gentle. The malty flavour is nicely roasted. Not as aggressive as some porters, but very driankable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Flaske. EGentlig udemærket ret sødlig porter. Men med absolut ingen mundfylde hvilket trækker en del ned. Ellers lover det egentlig godt for den kasse blandet Emerson jeg har stående.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
The off-white head quickly fades from the soya brown clearness. Brown sugar and anise greet us in a rather rooty veil. Sweet brown malts maintain the anise touch while procuring earthy and rooty nuances. Not very roasty at all. Kinda dull bodied, medium to high carbonation is kinda biting - the ensemble simplifies the flavours. Mellow indeed, almost one-dimensional flavour profile, but what is there is pleasant.
