COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed as a collaboration between Regional Wines and Spirits and Emerson’s Brewing Co, the R.S.B. recipe was developed by Beer Judge, Writer, homebrewer and Regional Beer Specialist Kieran Haslett-Moore in the Hills of Wellington before being brewed in Dunedin with Richard Emerson. R.S.B. is a new world take on the ESB style brewed with New Zealand Pale Malt, English and Belgian Crystal Malts, New Zealand Golding and New Zealand Styrian Golding hops. A fruity malt accented ale that is perfect for winter drinking.

Handpump at Hashigo Zake. Pours clear amber, off white head. Good retention. Aroma has some light esters, kinda grapefruity.
Awesome silky mouthfeel. Rich full bodied malt flavour gives a great backbone for an assertive bitterness to come through. Great orangey flavours come through. Has a lingering citrusy finish.

light copper color. Very auster, earth and wooden color. Very malty, dry. Well balanced.

Delicious; round rich malty body cut against by zesty tropical flavoured hops and clean bitterness.

From the FYO at Regional. Biscuity sweet on the nose, with a hint of ripe fruit, in the mouth there’s a surprising amount of spiciness chasing a rounded flavour. Oddly, makes me think of braised cabbage - and not in an unpleasant manner; wholesome, savoury, a bit of salt and pepper. The hops leave a lovely warmness. Quite a nice bitter ale, though perhaps more nuttiness could’ve been bought out from the malt.

Handpump at Hashigo Zake. Pours opaque amber with a small off white head. Pear, grapefruit and light caramel on the nose. Lots of orange zest with some dried pear coming through in the taste. Backed by a light toffee malt. A lingering bitterness of citrus to finish it off with a good mouth feel. Solid beer

Rigger from Regionals. Donfardz64 has done a very good job of describing it. Dangerously sessionable at 5.3%. Brilliant body. Well done Kieran, this stands up to any ESB I’ve ever had.
