kempicus (192), Wellington, New Zealand Mar 8, 2008 I was surprised by this, i’m not a big fan of spiced ales, if i want to drink christmas cake i’ll liquidise one but this was good, it’s definately a ’mood’ beer and i was in the right mood for it. It’s spicy but not over the top spicy and instead of a harshness that sometimes comes through with less accomplished examples this is deliciously smooth. my only minor critisism is that it could possibly do with more body but other than that a great beer.
Kiwi_Jonno (56), Christchurch, New Zealand Sep 14, 2008 500mL Bottle. Reddish/brown beer with an average size head but extremely short lived. Cloudy beer thats not much to look at. Strong aroma of malt, spice and fruit. The taste follows suite, with a warming alcoholic presents. Very sweet ale, intense but slightly short finishing. Almost Belgium-like with a fruitiness and spice like a Dubbel. whiterabbit (12), Australia May 8, 2008 This brew is exactly what it says it is. Smooth and Spicy. Pours a chocolate colour with beige head. Finish is sweet and spicy with a hint of coffee. Highly recommended. Just had it with a curry and it complemented it beautifully!!
