COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Laid to rest last February in a Jim Beam barrel. Opening a bottle of Emmett's American style Barley Wine this winter will be like "waking a sleeping giant." This was a huge beer before it went into the barrel, now it's even bigger and better. A deep sniff of this beer will reveal several layers of dark fruit and whiskey married with a rich caramely sweet scent. A background woody aromatic also shows itself. A sip sends your taste buds into overdrive. The flavors of caramel and oak blend with a firm and warming whiskeylike essence while a pronounced dark fruitiness adds to the complexity. Your throat will warm upon swallowing due to the higher alcohol levels and a firm but pleasant bitterness will linger on the tongue urging you to take another sip. Enjoy this very limited winter warmer.
