A summertime favorite. Hefe-Weizens are known for their delicious banana and clove-like character, and refreshing tart finish. Also, subtle flavors breadiness add to the intrigue of this beer.

Nice hefe. Lots of banana and clove flavor a bit thickets than most others. Compared to German too which is much lighter flavor ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at the Dundee location. A good hefeweizen. Nice banana and clove flavor, true to the style. Might be the best offering from this brewer.

Tap in Palatine. Pours hazy yellow with a medium, fizzy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, hay), no hops, huge banana nose, and citrus notes. Flavor is malt and sweet, candied bananas, and citrus notes. Light body and carbonation, low warmth, and a dry finish.

Draft. HUGE candy banana aroma here... way too much of that. Flavor tones that down a tad and is quite well balanced and attenuated, beautifully dry, complex hefe flavor, has all the right players, bit of burnt rubber, medium banana, love the dryness. Great body, dry and well attenuated. Unfortunately the overly phenolic and estery aroma really detracts from the drinking experience.

On tap at the brewery in W. Dundee- poured a bright hazey yellow with a big fluffhead. Instant aroma of bananna, yeast and lots of wheat. Taste was rich and refresing at the same time, ecspecially on scorcher like today. Little spice in the finish with some noticeable clove.

Tasted at Emmetts Tavern in West Dundee during their quarterly beer tasting. Cloudy golden color with a slight orange coloring, very thick white head and a mod/high amount of carbonation. Aroma has a pronounced lemon aroma with clove and bready notes. Flavor is a very robust lemon fruitiness, clove hides behind the fruit flavor but melds well with it. Yeast as a good amount of density to the brew and a smooth bready flavor with a slight dry ending. Overall a pretty good beer and a the perfect amount of yeast in your glass from tap.

On tap at the Downer’s Grove brewpub. Presented in a logo weizen glass with a cloudy orange/golden hue, a medium white head, and spotty lacing. The aroma was light grain, ripe banana, and spices. The flavor was these with a more pronounced clove note, subtle sweetness and a little dryness in the finish. A more subdued version than previous years, but still very sessionable.

Sampler at the brewery. Cloudy yellow, good head. Nice looking hefe. Very strong aromas of banana. Flavor follows suit- nice soft mouthfeel and lots of bananas and a touch of lemon/citrus at the end for balance. I liked it a lot.

This draft brew from the ale house poured a small sized head of foamy fine to large sized long lasting white colored bubbles that left behind a semi-opaque dark yellow orange colored body with very good carbonation . The aroma was mild with floral malty notes. The mouth feel was mildly tingly at the start and very mellow in the finish. The flavor was thin missing the typical banana notes and favored the hops.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2010 Murky orange. Full clovey, banana aroma. Flavor is rich, savory, with a cleansing citric tartness. Good wheat beer.
