COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many of us consider ourselves "Hop Heads" and think we can handle just about any hobby beer on the market. Our Imperial IPA will be a no holds barred assault on your palate! Hop flavor and bitterness will hit you in places you didn’t even know existed! The aroma will be so commanding that the bottle may not be able to contain it. It will make you question whether or not you really are as big of a "Hop Head" as you think. Enjoy!

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 15/20
Narnad (1147) - Wonder Lake, USA - APR 23, 2009
Pours a dark amber/brown in color, very murky with a thick white, moderately dense foam head. Aroma is mostly a grapefruit citrus with a lighter but still pungent pine and grassy hops note with it finishing up with a sweet maltiness. Flavor starts out with a strong citrus and pine flavor which lasts through the rest of the tasting. Middle is composed mostly of a nice spruce/pine hoppiness that mixes well with the very sweet, chewy malty ending. Beer feels extremely heavy in your mouth with malt sugars and has a modest alcohol presence at the end. There is a very fine carbonation in the beer and it leaves great lacing on the glass. Price of the beer ran $14 for 22 oz. Overall this limited release beer may be a bit pricey but is definitely worth a look. The hops really do clobber your tongue leaving it semi-numb and then density is perfect for carrying the flavor.

JMerritt (1592) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2009
22 oz. bottle courtesy of Narnad. Pours dark amber, very hazy, with a large, fluffy off-white head. Head is indeed very dense, nearly looks like a nitrogen dispensed head. Aroma thick with grapefruit, pine needles, tree sap and mild malt/vanilla cookie. Puckeringly bitter flavor initially, loads of spruce and sticky resin, turning mildly sweet as caramel malts become noticeable. Finish is every so slightly alcoholic, sticky, and bitter. Simply put: awesome.

kseecs16 (1090) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - MAR 31, 2009
22 oz limited edition bottle purchased and drank at the Downer’s Grove pub 03/30/2009. Dark orangey amber with a creamy off-white. Very citrus and piney hops aroma. Very dank and resinous. Flavor is super bitter with a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Pine and citrus are redolent. Balanced just enough but very hop forward, Medium bodied with a creamy feel. This is the best big beer I’ve had from Emmett’s 8 4 8 4
