COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of my favorite beers, American IPA’s are outrageoulsy hoppy. As I have mentioned in the past the IPA is like our Victory Pale Ale on steroids! Your palate will be bombarded from all angles by hops. Huge hop aroma, incredible hop flavor, intense hop bitterness, al brought together in perfect harmony by lots of malt! Even though this beer is all about the hops, there is also and underlying grainy sweet malt character with a touch of caramel to help keep al those hops in line. Wow! This is a hoppy beer!

From the tap this pours a slightly hazy copper/orange with a large head that vanishes quickly. Still, nice lacing is done throughout the drink. The aroma’s a bit lighter than I would like but has all of the proper elements, a sweet caramel base with grapefruit, pine, lemon zest, and a trace of orange blossoms. The hoppy bitterness builds as you drink, attaining a point that makes this hop-head happy, but it fades a bit quickly in the finish. All in all, a decent IPA.

Had this one on tap at Emmett’s new brewpub in Oswego, IL. Copper-amber with a medium head. Mild nops on nose, but a hoppy finish to the drink. Not bad.

Draft at Downers Grove. Hop aroma is well balanced with a malt backbone. Dark copper in color with a good sized off-white head. Lots of lacing. Bitterness from the hops is full but not overbearing and lingers pleasantly. Good easy drinking, yet tasty IPA.

#1021, On tap at the brewery in Downers Grove Illinois. A.K.A. "India Pale Ale." Served in a big pint glass. Hazy medium dark hazy copper color (Lighter as compared to the Victory) and a significant off white to dusty white head that was foamy and long lasting. The nose has a lot of metal or copper to it with some strong sweeter hops. The taste is very hop strong but only after a smooth, chewy and grainy malts. (As compared to the Victory the malts are much stronger but more grainy in a way) There is something especially thick about this, grains and barley in and out with a so-bitter-its-sweetness to it. I am unsure about the alcohol concentration but it felt near the 8% range. Definately worth the wait, I wish that they would brew this more often.

Had this one on draught in Dundee, Illinois. WOW! Exactly what I like in an IPA. Deep copper color, thin head, the hops pack a whollop in the nose of roses and spice, and in the flavor, strong and bitter and just right. Ideal!

Its all in the hops! storng floral notes, a very interesting IPA. they get thier hops from the pacific northwest and thats true to all thier styles. they all have a floral bouquet. all the beers are very drinkable. i would classify them as your typical english, scoth and irish styles with the special floral hops.
