COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Light copper in color, fresh, spicy citrus aroma. Malt is there as well, along with the typical ale fruity esters. The first taste reveals a pronounced bitterness without being harsh or biting. Malt flavor shows itself briefly, but gives way to a wonderfully fresh hop flavor followed by a pleasant, mild bitterness.

Victory Pale Ale is all about the hops. It is full of big hop flavor, aroma and bitterness, which are all supported by substantial malt character. The Victory finishes with a fresh-picked hop character on the palate that will leave your mouth watering. 5.6% ABV

Bottle. Decent dark gold appearance without to much head. It really doesn’t smell like anything. Unfortunately, the taste is similar to the aroma. A citrus piney taste with a bit of hops. This is a quite tame and really doesn’t do it for me.

12oz bottle from Armanetti’s. Pours a hazed, copper-orange colored body with a finger-width, frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is well balanced with a good amount of citrusy hops and a solid malt backing. Some breadiness to the malts with a nice caramel cookie. The hops are floral with a light, sweet pine resin and a solid mix of grapefruit, tangerine, and pear. Flavor is similar. Citrusy florals and some herbal pines up front with a solid, bready, caramel cookie malt backing. Herbal hopping kicks up towards the end as this finishes a bit thin feeling despite the nice malt backing. Dry with a medium-light, slightly resiny bitterness that leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-light body with a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a solid, pleasantly surprising pale ale. Well hopped with an enjoyable, biscuity, caramel cookie malt backing that dries nicely and stays very well balanced throughout. Good beer.

Clear orange on sample at oak park. No aroma. Sour flavor. Not good. Zathras can never have anything nice.

On tap at GTMW - I never made it to Emmett’s tent in 2010, so I made it a point to get there early in 2011. This beer pours clear amber with a nice foamy white head. Clean citrus on the nose, with some herbal hops and a nice malt base. Taste is clean too--with bright hops that are more herbal and grassy than citrus. Very nice.

bottle-pours bright orange with a small eggshell fizzy head. nose is somewhat interesting-lite diacytl and i mean lite, piney hops, herbal tones, floral, lite sulfur, and caramel malt husks. flavors exhibit the floral and herbal tones with some piney yet leafy hops really take presence. finish is herbal, floral with some lite pine notes. this would be world class if i had this fresh. nice herbal notes long into the finish along with some cookie dough notes. Will have this fresh when im back in the chicago area.

Pours amber / copper with a soapy off-white head. The aroma has clean sweet lightly toasted malt with some syrup and nuttiness with only mild hoppiness. Medium crisp body with moderate carbonation. The flavor starts out with mellow caramel, toast and hazelnut malt that is not as sweet as the aroma suggests. There is also a hoppy presence with spice, citrus rind and some pine. The finish is more hop heavy for a ’normal’ pale ale and dries out even more. A resiny presence sticks in the mouth. Well made pale ale. Thanks to Terminus for picking this one up for me.

Draft at Revolution. Pours a coppery gold with a sticky white head. Nose is freshly hoppy with tangerine dominating, along with a lightly soapy note. Quite citrusy with a faint biscuity note. On taste, distinctly hoppy and a bit thin bodied. Could use a bit more malt support in this one, though the hops waver back and forth between floral, soapy & citrusy. Still, a nice fresh pale ale for sure.
