Sampled a bit of this at the brew pub. Decent. True to style. Dry dominated by roasted dark and crystal malt. Would try again.

Sample at the brewpub. Brownish-black color with a medium foamy beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and chocolate. Light-bodied with flavors of burnt malt, coffee and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a mild coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

6 oz. taster @ EBC. Nice smell of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Tastes just like it smells, roasted malt, bitter in the middle with a hint of coffee to round it out. Smooth body, low carbonation and medium bodied. Easy drinking and the best thing I sampled at Empire.

A proper rich stout. I had it out on the patio and it kept me warm. It has more of an alcohol taste than other locally made stouts, I find, but it isnít over-powering. Perfect creaminess that goes down easy. Highly recommended!

A roasty, creamy stout that stands out as one of Empire?s mainstays, being on nitro really helps this beer develop its rich but not overpowering flavors. A great session stout.

Tap @ Empire Brewpub w Ronnee of Feb 3. Pours black w brown head. Frothy/creamy. Nose of coffee and nuts. Palate is heavy w chocolate and coffee (though not incredibly roasty). Underlying sweetness to it, though I donít know if itís any fruit in particular or just heavy sugar/yeast. Heavy mouthfeel. Kind of a typical stout in a lot of ways, but itís still good.

Last beer I drank from sampler. Pours deep brown and tastes of bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts, and some smoke. very pleasant end to my meal.

Draft. Pours a dark black body with nice brown creamy head. Aroma is creamy milk chocolate, spicy tobacco, light coffee roast, and milk. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth and creamy with notes of smoke, coffee, chocolate, milk, and tobacco.
