UPDATED: AUG 2, 2010 [BCTC 09] Murky orange amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of wild yeast, vanilla, bourbon, oak, and light spices. Taste of wood, oak, vanilla, bourbon, light citrus, green apple, and a sour finish. While not the standout of the fest, certainly the one that surprised me the most.
[BCTC 2010] Disappointing, probably what most others saw last year. Took an average for the final score.

BCTC 2009. Pours a hazy orange amber with a thinning head. Aroma is pretty gross- tons of nail polish remover/acetone, solvent and rubber cement- vegetal and DMS. Flavor is soapy, DMS, solvent, harsh rubber and phenolic, wood, oak, oily, and off infected funkiness. Gross.

On tap, BCTC 09. The buzz was really weird around this beer at the fest, so I had to seek it out. Pours an orangish amber body with a moderate frothy off-white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is very heavy on this, very oaky and over-bourboned with some belgian yeast, caramel, wild funk, and pale malts. Couldn’t tell ya what style this was. The flavor was just as weird, bourbon, oak, weird malts with odd flavors from the wild yeast, some caramel and vanilla. Sour and sticky caramel finish with moderate fizzy carbonation. I really didn’t know what was going on with this one, but it was interesting for sure.

BCTC. Golden orange with congealing head. Paint glue aroma. Orange glue funk flavor. Wow. Something went wrong here.

A hazy reddihs amber ale with a thin white head. A very nice pungeant lactic aroma with wooden notes, cherries, and Brett. Wow. In mouth, a sweet refreshing soursih ale, with tobacco, herbs, candy sugar. Rich and smooth. Tap at BCTC 2009

Tap at BCTC. 4.0 and 4.1 so far, wow! This truly was one of the worst beers I’ve ever had in my life. This tasted like greasy chicken lo mein that had been sitting out on the counter for two weeks, mixed together with Mamma Mia Pizza Beer. Sour, infected, oily and disgusting. Undrinkable; I could hardly gag down a second sip.

Hazy orange, spotty head. Very oaky bourbon aroma. Flavor - huge new oak profile, sour, full-bodied. Bit of bourbonish sweetness. Very impressive, well done, and unique.
