Cask at Bricklayers Arms Yorskhire Festival, 27th February 2009. Mid-brown with a foamy head. So much vanilla here that it’s like a beer float, without you needing to add any ice cream. Very strange and very sweet. Interesting but only for a single pint.

Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire beer festival, February 2009. Big vanilla milk chocolate character throughout. Some odd bitterness. Not very dark. Tasty but the mouthfeel is far too light to stand up to the other elements, so didn’t seem perfectly balanced to me.

A Mes rate: gravicask at the Bricklayers Yorkshire fest.
Bright mahogany red with no head what so ever. Damn there’s a lot of vanilla in this. A bit of maple too but it’s all about the vanilla. Following my initial sniff I was expecting this to have a shit load of body. Sadly it had very little. Thankfully the rest of it is so good it doesn’t matter. Choc and coffee porter with some expertly done vanilla. Great stuff.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel, Northampton. Wow, now this is good. Black with a whitish head, and filled with vanilla coffee beans and chocolate. The nose particularly is excellent with the coffee and vanilla working in wonderful harmony. Very full bodied and flavoursome with excellent roasty characteristics. Vanilla works so well.
