COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust defines this Porter very well. It is full bodied, very complex and strong! Lots of malt flavor yet balanced by just the right amount of hops. We only brew this during the cooler months due to the heft and richness... so enjoy it while it's here

Sampled at the Syracuse location. Black; milk chocolate & cocoa aroma; thick malt flavours - chewy and sweet. Some could really get into this, but after drinking Smutty Robust all last winter this seems simple in comparison.

From 2002: Pretty basic porter, dark deep brown. Chocoalte, roasted malt, coffee, and some hops. Chewy, yet easy to drink. Not very complex like advertised.

Dark brown. Light roasty nose. Sweet body, some smokey malt. Very light example.

Head diminished rater quick that vanished after few minutes. Very one dimensional product, light coffee, bland.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2003 I really enjoy this porter. Another one of my favorites. Not the strongest out there, but not the weakest. No confusing/muddled notes, just a straight up porter, chocolatey, roasty with a slightly increased amount of hops to add some extra ale appeal. Great burnt white head and brownish-coffee appearance.

Very good tasting but very under-malted for a porter. I could tell as soon as it was poured that it did not have enough of a backbone because it’s head was so thin and bubbly, not frothy like a strong porter should be. Not very impressed by this brewery so far.
