Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This mead pours a dark golden color from the bottle. Small to medium sized head. The aroma is honey, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied mead. Lots of honey flavor with some fruit, apple and pear. Fairly sweet but not cloying so. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

This is a very sugary mead. There’s a bit of pear or overripe apple fruit. A little too sugary for me.

Bottle. Pours a dark copper color, still, no lacing, and gold highlights. Sugary sweet aromas of honey and brown sugar, some caramel, too. Flavor is very sweet, and seemingly balanced with tons of honey and caramel, and some very sweet molasses. Body is packed with tons of sweets and candy. So incredibly drinkable. You can’t take giant sips of it, but you will drink a lot of it in a short time.

Sampled at Noogfest 08 thanks to Gunhaver. Pours golden amber with legs that last forever. Strong aroma of honey. Flavor of caramelly light honey that is not overly sweet with little alcohol detected. There is some very very faint peat or dirtiness in there as well. This is a very nice offering from Florida, although I will admit that I am not a mead expert.

Solid gold color with nice legs - Aroma is a tad "average" with very little distinguished varietal honey aroma - maybe some light orange blossom and wildflower? Flavor has a smooth taste with honey and orange - sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Nice mouthfeel with no alcohol detectable. A nice mead and a good Florida product.

Found this in a local liquor in Gainsboro store next to the Arrogant Bastard. Having wanted to try mead ever since reading Beowulf in middle school, I picked some up. I tried it chilled. It poured a clear yellow and immediately reminded me of honey. The scent of alcohol was apparent, but not followed by the expected alcohol taste. Initial hit was like white wine, which quickly faded into a very long-lasting sweet honey aftertaste. I was initially afraid it might be cloying, but it was not. I think I’m going to start making my own and become a viking.
