COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Aphro is a Belgianized version of our popular Aphrodisiac Ale. The honey, ginger, and lavender are still added as a spice addition. It is fermented with a traditional Belgian yeast strain, and wheat malt was added, giving it a Belgian white characteristic. 5.6% ABV

Draft. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Wheaty aroma with notes of lemon and ginger. The flavor has a wheaty base, with ginger, flowery lavender, and light lemony notes. Pretty good.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy orange gold with a bit of white head. Aroma of ginger, fruity Belgian yeast, clove. Taste is more fruit but ginger also cones through quite a bit. Very interesting and enjoyable.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Why is this beer labeled a Vegetable? It’s a Wit. Looks like a Wit, smells like a Wit and best of all tastes like a Wit!

(Rating #3087)

Tap at Pony. Hazy golden pour. The nose has a bit of light lavender and coriander. There is an unappealing sweetness on the back, bu the lavender is still present on the nose. There is a real woody astringency in here that just isn’t working for me. It’s not really all that impressive but it’s not terrible either – seems like some technical issues got in the way of a decent beer.

Tap at Empire. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a decent white head- slight fading. Aroma is spicy orange peel perfumey floral, big flowery and herbs- lavender and dandelion earthiness and light wheat malts. Flavor is also perfumey with flowers bordering on oily, citrus, and spicy phenols, belgian yeast and a decent wheat malt backbone. A bit overspiced, but not too bad overall.

A hazy golden ale with a thin white head. A rather sweet spiced aroma, light notes of cremed corn. In mouth, a sourish ale with pumpkin spices, incense, a bit funky. Lighter bodied. Veering on gueuze territory. Not bad. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 25 2009.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub with the brewer Tim Butler. The Aphrodiasac gruit ale with a big dose of yeast, that now overpowers it in smell, in taste, and also bulks up the mouthfeel. Unfiltered, more head on a light brown body. This is the more popular version, but it is way too yeasty for me, and the sourness has all but disapeared.

[2377-20090801] Sample. Very fragrant floral sweet yeast aroma with some pizza-like spice like rosemary. Hazy, pale yellow orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Bitter lemon Belgian yeast flavour is strong and bold. Light-medium body. Very nice surprise, wow.
