4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Purchased as a four pack of cans at the Sewickley Giant Eagle near Pittsburgh. Perfect on the pour with a nice big aromatic head of goodness. Chewy and exotic on the first mouthing, with plenty of surprises for the discriminating drinker. Each tasting was a bit different for me. Read the can if you will for an interesting aside.

12oz can, dark brown pour, 2 finger head and decent CO2. Balanced brew, interesting complex tasting brew with mixes of spices, maybe cinnamon, vanilla, and other various flavors. Alcohol taste, warming feeling, dry finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a translucent copper brown with bubbly white head. Aroma is nice Belgian dark fruity esters with a big malt background. Taste follows with a hint of spiciness and a boozy burn that warms on the way down. Pretty awesome beer to come from a can.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark amber with thick brown head and carbonation. Aroma is similar to a lager with heavy malts, grains, and yeast. Taste is really unique with cherry (but not too sweet), liquorish, dark fruits, malts, wheat and yeast. A malty aftertaste. Well done

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark muddy reddish brown with a ring of tan head. Inviting aroma of fruit, bread, spice. Flavor is cherry, cocoa, cinnamon and rye bread. Sweet with a bit of sharp esters in the back. Palate is creamy but a little thin in body at the end. Alcohol is a little hot. Almost reminds me of a nitro beer in the way it shows lots of great flavors, but still feels a little watery and washed out.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft. Pours clear amber with no head. Aroma is lemon, cherry. Taste is sweet cherries - big and bold. This was a welcome addition. Classic belgian notes - fruity/spicy, some funky/yeast notes. Easy drinker.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Deep brown with a reddish hue. Sugary malt, light vanilla in the nose. Nutty taste, oak, lightly roasted, dry alcohol, bread. Hmm, even a little corn syrup like an American lager. Flavors are ok (except the corn syrup) but it lacks body, it feels weak. And the best parts disappear quickly after drinking anyway, leaving only the corn syrup and alcohol aftertaste. The overall impression is vaguely unpleasant without being obviously terrible.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Aroma is molasses, vanilla, raisins, and figs. Appearance is dark amber with ruby hues. Think white head. Good lacing. Taste is sweet cherries, fig, vanilla, caramel, and just a hint of cinnamon. Medium full body and moderately low carbonation. Overall a rich and complex version of the style. Worth the price.
