COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filty rich in the nose and with massive taste. Black Damnation is a blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This is the first of the series.

50% of Black Albert was used with another 50% of H &V.

Black coloured beer with just a sliver of a dark tan head. Aroma is glorious & full of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruity chocolate. Flavours of H&V are quite evident, charcoal and mineral notes, chocolate, cocoa powder. Good coffee chocolate finish with good balancing bitterness and hops & sugar in the after taste.

Tasted on 1/28/12 from a capped 330mL bottle obtained in a trade. Pours completely pitch black with an average, even brown head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is full of roasted coffee, espresso grounds, dark chocolate covered espresso beans, and just a hint of vanilla. The flavor is more of the same with tons of dark chocolate and coffee espresso, with a touches of prune, vanilla, and black pepper. The body is hugely full with average, stinging carbonation, and a long, lightly bitter, dark chocolate covered espresso bean, vanilla, and touch of black peppercorn finish.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2012 Pours deep black, quickly receding tan head with residual lacing. Aroma full of charcoal, dark roasted coffee sprinkled with cocoa powder, nutty, melding with milk chocolate brownie overtones. Taste is sweeter than nose indicates, with chocolate liqueur, rum raisin, slightly bitter finish with coffee roasted malts. Palate is smooth and full, bordering on creamy. Super enjoyable, everything is rich and lush, making this perhaps my favorite of the first four in this series.

Had this a few times, but never rated it.... From notes: Bottled @ In De Wildeman. Pitch black color with beige head. Aroma’s of roast, coffee, fruit (berries). Flavor is medium sweet, with roast & fruit, a hint of acidity. Strong alcoholfeel, heavy mouthfeel. Long finish.

This is just about as perfect as this style could get. Wow. Big massive coffee and dark bitter chocolate hit up front. Backed by a beautiful dark fruit and maybe some vanilla. Pours a pitch black with a dark tan head that sticks around as a light coating. Big and foamy in the mouth. Amazing.

Bottle 33 cl from Willems - Grobbendonk (B). Black beer with short tan head. Nose of espresso, mocha, chocolate, ashes. The taste is chocolate, woody, bitter of coffee, earthy notes and raisins in alcohol, caramel-licorice. Delight complex and intense, but total. Unforgetable finale in bitter of roasting and hops, combined with round of alcohol.
