COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Beautiful deep creamy head, golden color. intense aroma of citrus, lemony zest. Sweet creamy mouthfeel. Malt notes creeps by light crispness of the hops and wheat. Yes you have the typical banana notes but the fruit notes are kept at a minimum.Would go great with a peach cobbler or apple pie. Could this be my favorite new hefe.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2012 From bottle poured a translucent yellow-orange to golden colour. Pours with a thick foamy white head that quickly fades and leaves poor lacing. Slow carbonation. Strong yeast aroma plus trace of spice. Tastes OK with strongish yeast plus a trace of clove. Has a touch of sourness towards the end. Smooth and medium thickness on palate.

Poured into a tulip glass. Light yellow color in the pour. Once settled in the glass it is opaque golden colored with a finger of white head that quickly broke down to a thin covering. Smells great. Lots of banana, some nectarine and orange. Nice taste. Starts like a normal Hefe with some banana. Then an undercurrent of bitter takes over with a sparkling water ending. Crisp with moderate carbonation. Hefe is not my favorite style. I liked this one because it was not overly fruity. It had just a touch of banana at the beginning and then mixed it up with a more interesting flavor sequence than a normal hefe.

Good beer. Musky cider mash aroma. Murky cider appearance one inch head lots of creamy lacing. A mildly crisp wheat flavor that finished slightly bitter. Very smooth palate, not my preference but on point for a hefeweizen. Nice balanced beer I can see why it has such high ratings.

The smell is of banana and clove. The color is exactly what I would expect of a hefeweizen... pale yellow. The taste is amazing. Overall this is mine and my wife’s favorite hefeweizen. Cant get enough!
